A right-wing group on Wednesday moved the Gujarat High Court seeking a ban on the release of the Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan starer 'Kedarnath' alleging that the movie promotes the concept of 'love jihad'. The movie is due for release on December 7.

Notably, the petition has been filed by International Hindu Sena on Wednesday and is likely to be taken up for a hearing next week. The petitioner has also claimed that the film shows a kissing scene at Kedarnath, a religious site of Hindus, which is unacceptable and affects religious sentiments.

Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, the movie tells the story of a wealthy Hindu girl who takes a pilgrimage to the historic Kedarnath Temple in the Uttarakhand mountains, where she meets and falls in love with a humble Muslim boy who becomes her guide.

Interestingly, it has become a trend for right-wing groups to hog the limelight by approaching the court seeking a ban on the release of films on flimsy ground. The last film which falls prey to a similar litigation was 'Loveratri', a film produced by actor Salman Khan.
