Actress Payal Ghosh, in a recent post on social media, has said that she will not apologise to 'Fukrey' star Richa Chadha.
Taking to her unverified Twitter handle, Ghosh said, "I have nothing to do wd Ms Chadda. We as women have got 2stand wd each other, shoulder to shoulder. I don't want any unintentional harassment to her or me on this matter. My fight 4justice is against only Mr Kashyap & I want 2focus solely on that right now. Let's make d world c his true face. (sic)."
In another tweet, she added, "I am not apologizing to anyone. I have not wronged nor have I given a wrong statement about anyone. I just said what @anuragkashyap72 told me. #SorryNotSorry (sic)."
Earlier, on Wednesday, during a hearing of a defamation suit filed by Chadha at the Bombay High Court, the defendant’s (Payal Ghosh) lawyer had stated that latter was ready to tender an unconditional apology to Richa.
However, with the actress's latest Twitter posts, it seems like she has changed her mind.
The court was hearing a defamation suit filed by Chadha against Ghosh, Aamoda Broadcasting Company Pvt Ltd, critic Kamaal R Khan, and others for allegedly defaming her in the alleged rape case against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap by Ghosh.
Chadha has filed the suit over recording, displaying and sharing an interview by Ghosh in connection with her charges against the well-known filmmaker. She has alleged that the acts have resulted in "tarnishing her reputation" and "subjected her to immense humiliation, ridicule, unwanted speculation, harassment, harsh public scrutiny and loss of business opportunities and goodwill thereby causing tremendous stress and mental agony."
She is, therefore, seeking Rs 1.10 crores in damages collectively from the defendants.
Meanwhile, Kashyap has vehemently denied any such incident as alleged by Payal Ghosh and sought severe action against the actress for "misusing" the criminal justice system, his lawyer had said last week.
Ghosh had last month filed an FIR against Anurag Kashyap accusing him of sexually assaulting her. Kashyap had later appeared before the Versova police station in Mumbai for questioning in the matter.
