In a recent development in the Richa Chadha-Payal Ghosh case, after a lot of to and fro from the latter to issue an apology to the 'Gangs of Waseypur' star, Ghosh has finally tendered an apology and both have settled the dispute 'amicably'.

On Wednesday, Ghosh told the Bombay High Court that they have amicably settled their dispute and through her layer submitted an undertaking, in which she stated that she will withdraw her statements made against Chadha and tendered an apology. In the said undertaking Ghosh also said that she would delete all the defamatory statements and posts made against the latter on social media while mentioning that she would not post any defamatory statements against Chadha in future.

Last week, Chadha had filed a defamation suit against Ghosh for making "false, baseless, indecent and derogatory statement" against her and also sought monetary compensation amounting to Rs 1.1 crore as damages. Chadha's defamation suit also mentioned other parties besides Ghosh including Aamoda Broadcasting Company Pvt Ltd, critic Kamaal R Khan, and others for allegedly defaming her in the alleged rape case against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap by Ghosh.

Chadha had filed the suit over recording, displaying and sharing an interview by Ghosh in connection with her charges against the well-known filmmaker. She has alleged that the acts have resulted in "tarnishing her reputation" and "subjected her to immense humiliation, ridicule, unwanted speculation, harassment, harsh public scrutiny and loss of business opportunities and goodwill thereby causing tremendous stress and mental agony."

However, after a to of to and fro, Ghosh finally apologised to Richa.

On September 23, Ghosh had filed an FIR against Anurag Kashyap accusing him of sexually assaulting her. Kashyap had later appeared before the Versova police station in Mumbai for questioning in the matter and denied all allegations made against him.

According to reports he even provided documentary evidence to show that he was shooting in Sri Lanka at the time when the alleged incident was said to have taken place.

Later, Kashyap sought severe action against the actress for "misusing" the criminal justice system, his lawyer had said last week.
