Sachin - A Billion Dreams has finally released and it's doing fantastic business at the box office, given its genre. The biopic, which isn't a feature film but a docu drama, has rewritten history by raking in over Rs 17 crore in two days. That in itself is a record.

But while this may seem a lot for a documentary drama, what people aren't aware of is Sachin Tendulkar has charged a whopping fee to share his life's episodes and events with the makers. No just that, unlike MS Dhoni, Sachin has also participated in the film's promotions. That's mainly because he plays himself and there's no other actor playing him on screen. 

But how much did the master blaster charge for this film? A source from the production tells us, "It's somewhere close to Rs 40 crore. Maybe, not exactly 40 but he's definitely got 35-38 crore for the film." If you add that to the budget of the documentary film, it's almost as much as any other average Hindi feature film.
