It's been six years since Jiah Khan passed away. The actor committed suicide on June 3, 2013, by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her home in Mumbai. It was reported that Jiah took this grave step after allegedly fighting with her then-boyfriend and actor Sooraj Pancholi. After five years of her death, Sooraj was charged with abetment to suicide on January 31, 2018. Even now the case has not been settled yet.

Now as per reports in Mumbai, a popular British television broadcaster is planning to make a three-part documentary series on Jiah's death. The team is already in Mumbai and they have started their work on the documentary. One of the film's co-ordinators stated to Mumbai Mirror, "It’s too early for us to say anything about the documentary."

Talking about Jiah, she was born in the US and was raised in London. The late actor had made her debut opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Ram Gopal Verma's Nishabd. She then went on to star in two hit films namely Ghajini and Housefull. She was 25 when she committed suicide.

Soon after her death, Sooraj was arrested on June 10, 2013. On July 2 the same year, the HC had granted him bail. After a petition seeking transfer was filed by Rabia, the case was transferred to the CBI in July 2014. After the transfer, the investigation agency refused to charge Pancholi with murder charges, Jiah's mother Rabia claimed.

However, Rabia has been pressing for applying a serious charge of murder under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Pancholi. However, the agency has charged Pancholi with abetment to suicide.
