Not Ranbir Kapoor! It'll be Shahid Kapoor in Imtiaz Ali's next

It was Jab We Met (2007) that that put Shahid into the big league. And though the movie went on to become a massive hit, Shahid and Imtiaz didn’t pair up again.

Instead, Imtiaz moved on to making his next with Saif Ali Khan (Love Aaj Kal), whom he also collaborated with as a writer on Cocktail. Imtiaz then worked with Ranbir Kapoor in Rockstar followed by Tamasha. Between the two films, he also directed Alia in Highway. Then it was Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma who played his Harry and Sejal. Just when it seemed that his next would star either Deepika, Anushka, Ranbir, Alia, or Shah Rukh Khan, he took almost a decade-long U-turn and instead offered Shahid his next film. 

The film is expected to kick-off in April, and will be followed by a schedule abroad. The hunt for the female lead is still on.
