'Mumbai Saga' teaser: It's deadly-gangster John Abraham vs no-nonsense cop Emraan Hashmi

The teaser for Mumbai Saga is out! Directed by Sanjay Gupta, the gangster-based film has an ensemble cast including Emraan Hashmi, Sunil Shetty, John Abraham and Kajal Aggarwal along with Mahesh Manjrekar, Gulshan Grover and Amole Gupte. In the 63-second long teaser, we see all these actors and get a glimpse of what they play in the film. John plays the role of a deadly gangster named Amartya Rao

He is joined by Rohit Roy and Prateik Babbar as the members of his gang. On the other hand, Emraan plays the role of a no-nonsense cop who is on a mission to make the city of Bombay cleaner and violence-free. The teaser gives major Sanjay Gupta vibes like his earlier films namely Shootout at Lokhandwala and Shootout at Wadala.

Earlier reports were making the rounds that Mumbai Saga will be an OTT release. However, Sanjay clarified in a statement by saying, "I was certain that I had a story that everyone would love to watch on the big screen, enjoying the company of their loved ones with a bucket of popcorn. And here we are, ready to rock the cinemas with Mumbai Saga, a story that's unlike any other."

The film is set in the 1980-90s era of Bombay just before it was renamed Mumbai. Talking about the release date, Mumbai Saga is set to hit the big screens on March 19, 2021.
