Mumbai drugs case: From Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Merchantt to Munmun Dhamecha - know all about those involved

A Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) team busted an alleged drugs party on October 2 night. Eight persons were detained for questioning by the NCB, according to NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede. All of the eight persons were later arrested on October 3. Three accused including Aryan Khan, Arbaaz Seth Merchantt, and Munmun Dhamecha were produced before Mumbai's Esplanade Court which remanded them to NCB custody till October 7.

As per the NCB, three persons have been booked under Section 8C, 20B, 27 (Punishment for consumption of any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance) and 35 (Presumption of culpable mental state) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act). Section 8C of NDPS Act refers to prohibition to produce, manufacture, possess, sell, purchase, transport, warehouse, use, consume, import inter-State, export inter-State, import into India, export from India or tranship any narcotic drug or psychotropic substance while Section 20B deals with punishment for producing, manufacturing, possessing, selling, purchasing, transportation, imports inter-State, exports inter-State or use of cannabis.

Satish Maneshinde, the lawyer arguing in defence of Aryan Khan said in the Court, "Accused number 1, Aryan Khan was invited for the cruise party. However, he did not have a boarding pass. He didn't have any seats or cabins there. Secondly, according to the seizure, nothing has been found in his possession. He is arrested only based on chats." Other accused in the case include Nupur Satija, Ishmeet Singh Chadha, Mohak Jaiswal, Gomit Chopra and Vikrant Chhokar. Here's all we know about those involved in the case. Read on. 

Munmun Dhamecha 

Munmun is originally from Madhya Pradesh's Sagar district. At present, no one from her family lives in Madhya Pradesh. She is 39 years old and is a fashion model by profession. As per reports, her parents are no more. Her brother Prince Dhamecha lives in Delhi.

Nupur Sarika 

Nupur Sarika works as a primary teacher in Delhi. Mohak had given drugs to her. Nupur Sarika had reached the rave party hiding these drugs in sanitary pads. Reportedly, NCB recovered drugs from her.

Ismeet Singh 

He is a resident of Delhi and has his own chain of hotels. NCB collected 14 MDMA Ecstasy pills from him.

Mohak Jaswal 

Mohak Jaswal is an IT professional from Delhi. Mohak took drugs from a local person in Mumbai, then he gave the drugs to Nupur. He asked Nupur to hide drugs in sanitary pads so that he can collect it from her in the party.

Vikrant Chhoker 

A resident of Delhi, Vikrant is reportedly a drug addict.NCB has recovered 5 gms Mephedrone (intermediate quantity), 10gms cocaine (intermediate) from him.

Gomit Chopra 

Gomit is one of the leading and best fashion makeup artists in Delhi. Trained at MAC, he can create varied looks. Gomit was reportedly hiding drugs in a contact lens case. NCB recovered 4 MDMA pills and some cocaine from him.

Aryan Khan

Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan was also arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on October 3. He has been sent to NCB custody till October 7. According to a report by anandabazar.com, "Aryan has admitted that he had taken drugs at the party."

Arbaaz Merchant 

Arbaaz Merchantt is Aryan Khan's school friend. Both have partied together several times before and their photos went viral on the internet ever since the sensational arrest of Aryan in the drugs case on October 3. Reportedly, NCB has recovered 6 grams of charas from him. 

Shreyas Nayar

Shreyas is a resident of Goregaon area in Mumbai. In the rave party, different groups were partying. Drugs were supplied by Shreyas to one of these groups. Shreyas couldn't go to the party because of some unknown reasons. He is one of the event managers of this rave party.
