'Mission Mangal' Box Office report day 3: Akshay Kumar starrer crosses Rs 70 crore mark

Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menon and Sharman Joshi's film Mission Mangal is creating a roar at the Box Office! After receiving a massive advance (of 50-55%) and opening of Rs. 29.16 crore, the movie has now crossed Rs. 70 crore mark.

Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari, Nithya Menon and Sharman Joshi starrer Mission Mangal has managed to mint Rs. 23.58 crore on first Saturday, after earning Rs. 29.16 crore on its opening Thursday and Rs. 17.28 crore on first Friday. The movie is working exceptionally well in multiplexes of metros like Mumbai, Mysore and West Bengal.

Informing on the same, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#MissionMangal witnesses superb growth on Day 3... Multiplexes of metros + Tier-2 cities are rocking... Mass circuits witness growth and should put up big numbers today [Sun]... Thu 29.16 cr, Fri 17.28 cr, Sat 23.58 cr. Total: 70.02 cr. India biz."

Directed by Jagan Shakti, produced by R. Balki, Mission Mangal is loosely based on the story of scientists at Indian Space Research Organisation who contributed to the Mars Orbiter Mission, India's first interplanetary expedition. The movie is jointly produced by Cape of Good Films, Hope Productions, Fox Star Studios, Aruna Bhatia, and Anil Naidu. The movie released alongside John Abraham-Mrunal Thakur starrer Batla House on Independence Day.
