One of the films that has been selected for screening is the upcoming Marathi flick Chumbak, which is backed by Akshay Kumar. The Khiladi had seen the film at one of the screenings at Mumbai International Film Festival and was so impressed with it that he decided to present it.

Directed by Sandeep Modi, it has lyricist Swanand Kirkire playing the lead role. It is a story of friendship between a 15-year-old table-cleaning-waiter-boy Baalu and a 45-year-old mentally-slow man Prasanna that forces him to make a choice between his dreams and morality. A source says that Akshay has been invited for the festival. The film will be screened on August 12.
