Karan Johar's short film in the anthology of four movies titled Lust Stories has been grabbing a lot of eyeballs for reasons more than one. At first, it was because of the treatment of the subject of a newly married woman trying to find sexual compatibility in her partner and more recently it became the talk of the town for Kiara Advani and Neha Dhupia's masturbation scenes in it. Now another reason has been added with the family members of veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar raising objections to the use of her Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham song in the backdrop during the orgasm scene of Kiara's character.
Those who've watched the movie on Netflix, may recall the scene when Kiara's character's vibrator gets activated as the K3G song sung by Lata Mangeshkar swells in the backdrop. While Karan Johar was lauded for his self-deprecating humour, little did he know that using the song from his directorial would leave the legendary singer's family upset.
A report on BollywoodHungama quoted a family member of the singer as saying, "We wonder why he needed to use a Bhajan-like song sung in the most revered voice of Asia to show his heroine in an orgasmic state. He could have used any other song."
Apparently, the family has not even informed the veteran singer about the use of her song in such an 'embarrassing' situation by KJo. The family member told the poprtal, "At her age we don’t want to expose her to this kind of ugly desecration of her song" adding that, "Why did Karan Johar use Lata Didi’s immortal song in such an embarrassing situation? I still remember how ecstatic Karan was when Didi had recorded the song for Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He said it was a dream come true. Why turn the dream song into a nightmare now?”
