Not very long ago, veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to Breach Candy hospital after she complained of having difficulty in breathing. Her situation then was critical. She was admitted to Intensive Care Unit and was on ventilator. However, it now appears that the nightingale of India is recovering well.

Shobha De questioned on Twitter about her health. "Tell me it isn't true. Has India lost its nightingale? @mangeshkarlata," she wrote. Stating that the rumours were baseless, Madhur Bhandarkar replied stating, "No ma’am @DeShobhaa just spoke to Usha Tai.... Lata didi is stable and recovering well...let's pray for her speedy recovery."

On November 14 too, he updated, "Just spoke to the family. #LataMangeshkar tai is stable and recovering. My humble request, not to spread baseless rumours and pray for @mangeshkarlata speedy recovery."

Lata's spokesperson also issued a statement on the same which read, “Lata di is fine and progressing steadily. Request members of the media to please not give vent to rumours. Thank You for standing by us.”

Lata Mangeshkar turned 90 on September 28. She was recently in the news for wishing her niece Padmini Kolhapure good luck for her upcoming movie Panipat.
