Kareena Kapoor Khan breaks silence over controversy around her son Jeh's name

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan welcomed their second born in February this year. Up until now, Kareena and Saif had kept the name of their second son under wraps. But before the launch of Kareena's book on pregnancy, it was revealed that the celebrity couple had named their second son 'Jeh'. However, several media reports claimed that 'Jeh' was just Kareena's son's nickname and his full name was in fact 'Jehangir', which has been disclosed by the diva in her 'Pregnancy Bible'. 

Soon after the news of Kareena's son's name being 'Jehangir' spread, the celebrity couple became the centre of social media attention and were brutally trolled for their choice of name. Earlier, Kareena and Saif were trolled for naming their first-born Taimur. 

Later, during a live Instagram session with Karan Johar for the launch of her book on pregnancy, when the filmmaker asked if he's allowed to mention her second child's name, Kareena replied and said, "Yaa, it's Jeh Ali Khan."

Now, in a recent interview with India Today, Kareena opened up about the negativity on social media surrounding her son's name. She said, she wished there wasn't negativity because people are talking about her two innocent children. 

Kareena said, "I am a positive person and I want to spread happiness and positivity. There is no place for negativity in our lives. Look at what the Covid-19 pandemic has done. It has brought the world closer. That’s what all of us should think about.”

About dealing with trolls, Kareena said, "I have to start meditating now that I am pushed against the wall. We are talking about two innocent children here. But we are going to stay happy and positive," Kareena added. 

Kareena further added that there was undue attention given to her choice of naming her baby considering there was a lot happening otherwise in the world that netizens should be worrying or concerned about. "We're in a global pandemic right now. I don't think the most important thing is 'what my son is doing' or 'what my son’s name is' or 'what exactly is happening with my son.' I don't think that's the focus."

On the work front, Kareena Kapoor Khan will be next seen in 'Laal Singh Chaddha' opposite Aamir Khan.
