Karan Johar calls mother Hiroo Johar his 'super hero' as she undergoes two massive surgeries

On Monday, director Karan Johar revealed that his mother, Hiroo Johar, had recently had knee replacement surgery.

Taking to Instagram, Karan posted a video, wherein his mother can be seen sitting on what appears to be a wheelchair. She also thanked the doctors for taking good care of her at a hospital.

 

Alongside the clip, Karan wrote, "My Mother ... My super hero! She has had two massive surgeries in the lockdown.... In the past 8 months... Her Spinal Fusion Surgery ( the brilliance of DR BHOJRAJ) and her right knee replacement ( the Genius of DR MANIAR ) She endured both surgeries with her indomitable spirit and a sense of humour."Karan also penned a few words in praise of his 79-year-old mother.".... She is nearly 79 but has the spirit and zest for life as a millennial does! I am so so proud of her .... I love you so much Mama! Karan Kumar Johar, also known as KJo, is a Hindi film director, producer, screenwriter, costume designer, actor, and television personality.

 

He made his directorial debut with the romantic comedy-drama "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" (1998), for which he received the Filmfare Award for Best Director and the Filmfare Award for Best Screenplay.

His subsequent films, the ensemble family melodrama ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham...' (2001) and the ensemble musical romance drama ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna' (2006), were both commercially and critically successful in India and beyond. He won his second Filmfare Award for Best Director for his social drama ‘My Name Is Khan’ (2010). He received the Filmfare Award for Best Film for his role in the 2018 spy thriller ‘Raazi’.
