Kannada actor Nagabhushana arrested for allegedly causing woman's death with his SUV in road accident

Kannada actor Nagabhushana has been arrested after he allegedly rammed his speeding SUV into a couple on Saturday night in Bengaluru. The 48-year-old woman named Prema died while on her way to hospital, while her husband Krishna B is being treated in the Intensive Care Unit.

As per a report from The Hindu, the couple was strolling on their evening walk on the Vasanthapura Main Road when Nagabhushana knocked them down and crashed his car into an electric pole. The actor was driving from Uttarahalli towards Konanakunte Cross in careless manner allegedly.

The Kumaraswamy traffic police reached the spot quickly, arrested the actor, and seized his car for further investigation. The plice has launched an FIR against him for negligent and speeding driving, as per sources.

Nagabhushana gained pominence after headlining the 2021 Kannada comedy film Ikkat, which was released directly on Amazon Prime Video. The actor also received the Best Actor In a Debut Leading Role - Male award for the Haseen Khan and Esham Khan directorial at the 10th South Indian International Movie Awards (SIIMA) in 2022.

Since then, the actor has been played comedic characters in multiple films such as Lucky Man (2022), Made In China (2022), Nodi Swamy Ivanu Irode Heege (2022), and Daredevil Musthafa (2023) among others. He has also led the Kannada-language romantic comedy web series Honeymoon, whose six episodes premiered on Voot in 2022.
