Kangana Ranaut to star as Goddess Sita in mythological drama 'The Incarnation - Sita'

After her critically acclaimed role of Jayalalitha in ‘Thalaivii’, Kangana Ranaut is all set to play the role of Goddess Sita in the forthcoming epic period drama ‘The Incarnation - Sita’, the actress announced on Tuesday (September 14).

Kangana took to her Instagram and shared the poster of the film which had eagles and snakes on it. The movie will be helmed by Alaukik Desai and it has been penned by screenwriter KV Vijayendra Prasad, who also wrote ‘Thalaivii’.

“The Incarnation- Sita Glad to be on board for the title role with this immensely talented team of artists..With the blessings of Sita Ram …Jai SiyaRam,” she captioned her post.

Reacting to the news, fans of the actress showered her with love and blessings. “Wohooo mam majaaa aagya,” wrote one user while another commented, “Congrats maam looking forward for this you are unstoppable.” A third user wrote, “This is huge,” while a fourth one commented, “Perfect choice.”

Reportedly, ‘The Incarnation - Sita’ is the same film in which Alaukik Desai wanted to cast superstar Kareena Kapoor. There was a huge hue and cry in June when reports surfaced that the actress had asked for Rs 12 crore as her fee to play Sita in the mythological drama. Kareena was massively trolled on social media as well.

As per earlier reports, the film will star Mahesh Babu in the role of Rama and Hrithik Roshan is likely to play the character of Ravana. The movie will be released in five languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

Meanwhile, Kangana will next be seen in ‘Dhaakad’ and ‘Tejas’, in which she will play the role of an Indian Air Force pilot.
