'Just get back to love', writes Amitabh Bachchan as Sridevi's mortal remains reach her Mumbai residence

Bollywood’s beloved Chandni is back home for her last journey. 54 year old actress Sridevi who breathed his last on Saturday night in Dubai has got the entire nation shocked as fans have been mourning her untimely demise. More than 48 hours after her death, mortal remains of Sridevi arrived amidst huge crowd of fans, media and police presence outside her Green Acres building residence at Lokhandwala in Andheri (W) on Tuesday night.

Accompanied by Boney Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, Sridevi’s body arrived at around 10.33 pm in an ambulance escorted by police vehicles. Fans have been gathered outside her residence ever since the news of her death broke. Mumbai police had  a tough time handling the crowd and  they also had to use force to disperse the crowd gathered.

In midst of slamming the speculation about her death, Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter and wrote, “Get back .. get back .. just get back .. to love.”

Ending speculation over Bollywood diva Sridevi's sudden death, the Dubai Public Prosecutor's Office today released her body to the family after determining that she accidentally drowned in the bathtub following loss of consciousness.  At first it was reported that she had died of cardiac arrest, triggering questions and disbelief. However, it later emerged that she had drowned in the bathtub in her room at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers hotel.

As more speculation swirled, the Dubai government's media office said in a series of tweets that the case is now closed. "Dubai Public Prosecution has approved the release of the body of the Indian actress Sridevi to her family following the completion of a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances of her death," it said. "Dubai Public Prosecution stressed that all regular procedures followed in such cases have been completed. As per the forensic report, the death of the Indian actress occurred due to accidental drowning following loss of consciousness. The case has now been closed." It did not say why she lost consciousness. Family members, including her film-maker husband Boney Kapoor and stepson Arjun Kapoor, took the body from the morgue, got it embalmed and flew to Mumbai for her final journey home on a private plane that had been parked at the Dubai airport since Sunday. 

Known as Indian cinema's first woman superstar, Sridevi leaves behind her husband Boney Kapoor and their two daughters Jahnvi and Khushi. "On behalf of Khushi, Janhvi, Boney Kapoor, the entire Kapoor and Ayyappan families, a sincere thanks to the media for your continued sensitivity and support during this emotional moment," a statement by the family said. 

In its statement, the family said her body will be kept at Celebration Sports Club in Lokhandwala near her home for people to pay their last respects from 9. 30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. before it is taken for cremation. The family said media can also pay their respects "provided camera, recording devices, etc are left outside the venue". "

The last journey will commence at 2 pm from Celebration Sports Club to Vile Parle Seva Samaj Crematorium and Hindu Cemetery," it said.
