Sidhant Chaturvedi released his new single titled 'Dhoop' a few days back.
Siddhant Chaturvedi with his debut in Gully Boy made it big in Bollywood. He received several accolades for his performance as MC Sher and landed up with several big projects in his kitty. He was seen as a rapper in the film and indeed, Siddhant is an amazing singer too. Amid lockdown, he recorded his new single titled 'Dhoop' which was unveiled a few days back. Now during an interaction, Siddhant spoke at length about his inspiration for the song.
The multitalented actor stated, "'Dhoop' signifies a ray of hope, our saviour in these times. Everything that's been happening around us is quite stressful. There are sadness and misery everywhere. Every time I walk into my living room, my parents are watching the news and it's flooded with suffering and devastation all around the globe."
Sidhant further shared, "In the meantime, people on social media are quite active and trying to cope with these times by sharing their experiences, thoughts, hate comments, memes and primarily, workout videos. I admit that I did that too for a while. But then I realised nobody's able to look at the brighter side. I know there hardly is one but we need that silver lining, that sunshine, that ray of hope. So yeah, one day, I switched off my phone and sat on my window sill, hoping it shuts all the noise around me."
Siddhant revealed that 'Dhoop' was initially a poem. He said, "Taking inspiration from nature, I penned down this poem 'Dhoop'. It's about how the ray of sun is still doing its bit every day... It's lonely, like us but that's not stopping the ray of sun. We all are confined in our spaces but we can still be doing so much!"
He added, "Creating, developing and still chasing our dreams. The clouds covering us are dark and heavy, but there's always Dhoop -the light we all need in life, we just have to look in the right direction."
Siddhant concluded by saying, "'Safed si lagti hai ye dhoop' is specifically referring to all the doctors, nurses and the scientists. I also equate 'dhoop' to all our front-liners who are our real ray of hope."
