It came as heartbreaking news for fans when Salman Khan announced that his film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Inshallah has been shelved. The superstar had tweeted about it just three days before the film went on floors. He wrote, "The film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali is pushed but I will still see you all on Eid, 2020. Insha-Allah!!". The film also had Alia Bhatt as the female lead and she was pretty much excited for this once in a lifetime collaboration.

During a recent interaction with PTI, when Salman was asked about the project, he stated, "Sanjay is a very dear friend of mine and he will always be." He further said, "‘In-shaa-allah’ means god willing. I don’t think God was willing at this point of time."

During the recent red carpet event at IIFA Awards 2019, Salman had also said, "Currently, 'Inshallah' is not being made. Inshallah will be made but at least not with me."

While Alia shared, "I was very excited to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, of course very excited to work with Salman as well. I believe that sometimes things just happen and it’s not in your control. That way there’s a saying that if you want to make God laugh then tell him about your plans because plans never really go as per plan. But I can give it to you in writing that I am going to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali very soon."

Now reports have it, SLB has moved on from Inshallah and will be starting Gangubai with Alia.
