It's been nine months since Zero released and Shah Rukh Khan hasn't signed any new film. Several reports have been making the rounds about the superstar working with Madhur Bhandarkar, Rajkumar Hirani and other filmmakers. Talking about the same, he earlier told Rajeev Masand, "I have not signed any film. I have been hearing a lot of stories actually not just for me, just for production and so on. I don't know myself, I wanted to do an action film, a fun film. But I have not given it a thought, I m ok actually."

Recently, there were reports making the rounds that Ali Abbas Zafar is planning to direct an action thriller starring Shah Rukh and Katrina Kaif in the leading roles. However, without mentioning the report, SRK has put the rumours to rest. He took to his Twitter page and wrote, "It’s always nice to know that in my absence & behind my back, I have surreptitiously signed so many films that even I am not aware of!! Boys & girls I do a film when I say I am doing it....otherwise, it’s just post-truth."
