On December 28, 2017, After Hrs broke the story of Bollywood aspirant and television actor Mrunal Thakur (of Kumkum Bhagya fame) bagging the lead opposite Hrithik Roshan in Super 30. The film, directed by Vikas Bahl, is the story of mathematician Anand Kumar, the co-founder of ‘Super 30’ programme, which trains IIT aspirants in Patna.

Hrithik portrays the role of Anand and the makers needed a young, pretty and talented girl to play his leading lady. The audition threw up many surprises, but it was Mrunal who walked away with the honours because she brought a certain freshness to the project. In fact, before running the story in December last year, we had texted Vikas and Mrunal seeking a confirmation. We guess they didn’t respond then because they didn’t think “it was necessary”.

Anyway, now that Hrithik and Mrunal have completed a schedule in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, and are currently in Sambhar, Rajasthan, for their next, Mrunal has chosen to speak. She said, “It truly feels like a dream come true and the beginning of a special journey. I am extremely excited and grateful to be working with Hrithik, Vikas Bahl, Phantom, and Sajid Nadiadwala for my first Bollywood film.”

Drawing a deep breath, Mrunal added, “Hrithik is such an inspiration. Just observing him on the set has taught me so much. The way he works is not just for himself, he is a team player and is so giving. I am absolutely loving each day of the shoot. I am so comfortable shooting with Hrithik. He is humble and dedicated, and that makes me want to give my 200 per cent.”
