Since it's a pre Eid release, it can be argued that a large chunk of the Muslim population may rush to the theatres from Monday onwards, the collections of the movie on Saturday and Sunday will be quite crucial.

It cannot be denied that Tubelight has taken the lowest opening for a Salman Khan movie that released around Eid. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to his Twitter account to share the complete break down of the opening day numbers of Salman's films that have released in the past and the numbers speak for themselves. Ek Tha Tiger opened to an impressive figure of Rs 32.93 crore on day one, while Kick (Rs 26.40 crore), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 27.25 crore), Sultan (Rs 36.54 crore) and the latest being Tubelight (Rs 21.15 crore).

From the above numbers it's evident that Sultan had the highest opening day figures for an Eid release while Tubelight, has by far, the lowest opening on day one. However, the fans are really loving Salman's performance in the film and a positive word of mouth may result in increased numbers over the weekend.
