Today, the world has become a smaller place, thanks to social media. In such a scenario when a young actor, who is about to foray into Hindi cinema, joins one such platform, it instantly generates a lot of buzz. That’s what happened yesterday, when Sara Ali Khan made her debut on Instagram.

Meanwhile, she already has many fan accounts dedicated to her. There was immense anticipation about the launch of her personal account on this photo-sharing app before her birthday on August 12. Sara, however, opted to begin her social-media journey on Independence Day. Her first post was a visual rendition of the national anthem along with a pop art image of its author, Rabindranath Tagore. Interestingly, the Nobel laureate is her grandmother, Sharmila Tagore’s paternal grandfather. Sara posted the photo with the caption, “Happy Independence Day #merabharatmahan #proudtobeindian (sic).” 

On the work front, the actress will make her debut opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in Abhishek Kapoor’s Kedarnath, followed by Rohit Shetty’s Simmba, in which she will share screen space with Ranveer Singh.
