Karan Johar's Takht, starring Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, is finally set to go on floors soon
Karan Johar announced his mega project Takht back in 2018. The movie, however, took a lot of time to go on floors post that. Karan Johar has finally given people some good news. He has gone on a recce for the film. Karan and his crew have travelled to Rajasthan for the recce.
Karan Johar took to Instagram on Sunday and shared stories from the location. Takht, starring Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor in the lead roles, was previously scheduled to go on floors in August-September 2019.
Due to the pre-production work, Takht shoot is now going on floors in February. The movie will be shot in various locations. Although Karan Johar had recently announced that the movie was slated to release in 2020, reports state the movie will not release before 2021.
Takht is the story of the battle between Shah Jahan's first son Dara Shukoh (will be played by Ranveer Singh) and third son Aurangzeb (to be played by Vicky Kaushal). Meanwhile, Anil Kapoor is expected to play Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, Kareena might play Jahanara Begum, Alia will allegedly play Begum Nadira Banu, while Bhumi is expected to play Dilras Banu Begum and Janhvi might play a slave girl.
