Several reports suggested that some of the audience members left the concert soon after he started singing Tamil songs.Reportedly, Rahman crooned about 16 songs in Hindi and 12 in Tamil.

Now, speaking about the controversy, Rahman has finally broken silence and told NDTV, "We try our best. We try to be honest. I love the way how people have supported for all these years without them I'm nothing. I'm grateful to all of them."

Rahman was performing in the Netru Nalai concert in London on July that was affected by the London terror attacks that took place on June 3 at London Bridge and Borough Market. Post the alleged walk out of the spectators, a statement was issued on AR Rahman Live - UK Facebook page that read:

"Hi London. Thanks for the tremendous support and response. However, we have been getting a few complaints on language bias which is rather unfortunate as this was an Indian show and music doesn't have any barriers."
