Munna Michael actress Nidhhi Agerwal's recent outing with Indian cricketer KL Rahul sent the rumour mills into a tizzy. The two were spotted enjoying a quiet dinner at an upscale restaurant in Bandra earlier this week, which caused many to assume that they are dating.
However, dismissing all the rumours during an exclusive chat with DNA, Nidhhi said, "To be really honest, we are both from Bangalore. He's someone I have known before he became a cricketer, before I became an actor. It's just that ee are not from here (Mumbai) so when some one comes to town you just end up meeting your friends. There was no date or anything. There were other people as well. So, it was just friends catching up.But, it's just that people recognized us so that's why it seemed like that (a date)."
"You know these things keep happening. In the last one and a half year, this has happened to me four times. So now, I don't even care. Because when you are friends with someone you know what it is. Rahul is a friend and that's about it. I'm sure even he must be like, 'Oh God! What's happening,'" she added.
And Niddhi was quite right in guessing that because the cricketer is indeed not very happy about the things that are being said about him and Nidhhi.
"Can't a guy and girl be friends, is it so hard? I have known her for a long time, we both come from the same city. It's great to see the progress she is making in her field. We have known each other even when I was a cricketer and she was a Bollywood actress. It was not just me and her hanging out, there were three or four more people from Bangalore. It's good to catch up with friends and I assure you there is nothing happening. If I am seeing somebody, I'll make sure everybody knows. I will treat my woman like a princess and not do any hiding," the Indian cricketer told NDTV in a recent interview.
On the work front, Nidhhi will next make her Telugu debut with Chandoo Mondeti's Savyasachi, opposite Naga Chaitanya. Apart from that she has bagged Toilet director Shree Narayan's next.
