In many films, supporting characters become unforgettable and go down in history. Many actors, who are the leading stars, often take up supporting roles and the audience doesn't stop applauding them even now. On Koffee With Karan 6, Abhishek Bachchan had said, "It is heartbreaking to any actor who has been centre stage to be shadowed by another actor in the lead. The industry is a brutal place. I don't think anyone is entitled to say that I am who I am so I deserve this. No, you have to earn it. Moving from centre to left is heartbreaking but you have to use that hurt to inspire yourself to get back into the centre again."

During an EXCLUSIVE interaction with DNA, Arjun Rampal, who was seen playing supporting characters in movies like Rock On!!, Om Shanti Om, Rajneeti to name a few, was asked if he felt the same like Abhishek. To this, Arjun replied, "The lead characters say that about me, 'overshadowed by another character' (laughs). I do whatever was given to me to do and then go to the best of my ability and I believe that if you do that it's not going to go be unseen or it will be noticed. In fact, it is more liberating for me and more easy on me when I'm not really the 'central' central character, because the central character comes with a tremendous amount of responsibility."

Arjun further aded, "Every character has, of course, but the main weight of everything, that's why you call them supporting cast, right? You are supporting the film and this lead to reach his journey, whatever it is, and to do that, well, okay, you can do it with a lot more freedom with a lot less stress, and you can actually go and explore a lot more. So that's why those characters really can come out and be almost parallel characters. And that's what I try to do if I do those kinds of parts. It's just to be like completely fearless and just go out there and do it. Sometimes you get cautious like 'I should do this also, I should do that also', so it gets too calculative sometimes and that can lead to really really wrong."

On the work front, Arjun will soon be seen making his digital debut with ZEE5 Original - The Final Call which goes on air on February 22, 2019.
