Randeep Hooda expressed his inability to commit immediately to his director dost Ashwini Chaudhary’s film, Fifty-Fifty, it seems the latter opted to wait.
Usually, when an actor is unable to commit to a project for some or the other reason, filmmakers are known to look for alternatives. However, when Randeep Hooda expressed his inability to commit immediately to his director dost Ashwini Chaudhary’s film, Fifty-Fifty, it seems the latter opted to wait.
“For over two years now, Randeep has been sporting a bearded look for Rajkumar Santoshi’s film Battle Of Saragarhi. While the movie (based on the historic battle of 1897 when 21 Sikh soldiers fought 10,000 Afghans at Saragarhi) has been delayed in the making, Randeep isn’t taking up any role that requires him to trim or shave his beard. And the character Ashwini offered him sports a clean-shaven look,” says our source, adding that the two had a verbal duel about how the actor couldn’t commit to his director friend’s movie. “Both Randeep and Ashwini are Haryanvi jats and very thick buddies,” points our informer.
When contacted, Ashwini maintained that there’s no problem between them. “Randeep mera bhai hai, so where’s the question of any issue between us!” he said, adding that he wasn’t looking at casting another actor in his place. “He’s a very good actor and I’ll be working with him.” Set against the underbelly of Mumbai, it’s about three men whose lives connect in a situation over a span of 24 hours.
When told that Santoshi’s film could delay his movie as Randeep can’t go clean-shaven until he wraps up the period war saga, Ashwini reiterated, “I’ll wait for him to complete that film before he can shave it off for my movie.”
