Much like her previous international red carpet moments, this year’s Met Gala, too, saw Priyanka Chopra become a talking point for her look. While many loved her ensemble — she had teamed an ornate hoodie with a burgundy off-shoulder Ralph Lauren gown — some loathed it.

The highlight was our desi girl’s headgear, which, we hear, was made at her behest. Several precious jewels, including rubies and sapphires, were used and it took over 250 hours to bead them. A source close to the actress says, “Priyanka wanted an Indian element to accompany her dress. So, she thought of a hoodie with jewels and got her team to get it made by karigars back in India.”

The source adds that PC had decided on this look 25 days in advance. “She loved the hoodie the moment she saw it. And even though she took a little time to finalise her outfit for the gala, she was clear that she would team it with the hoodie,” informs our source.
