Arjun Rampal's latest release Daddy is a period drama based on living gangster from Bombay. The film takes us through 40 years of Arun Gawli's life, from 1970s - 2012.

Designer duo Divya and Nidhhi Gambhir, who did the costumes for the film shared some interesting facts with us. Check them out below and let us know how many of these did you know?

*It's interesting is that the film is actually set in 2012 with flashbacks to different decades, where it became imperative for costumes to suggest what period it is in the film.

*The treatment throughout has been kept extremely real. Their research was based upon real images of people from back then, real stories, so the costumes were made and aged to a level where each of it looked authentic.

*The 70s in the film is not about big collars and bell bottom pants. 70s was more about stripes, in cottons / khadi.

*Each decade 70s, 80s, 90s, were studied through different layers of what fabrics people wore, what were the prints of each era, textures, patterns, silhouettes, even the colour saturations.

*80s was totally different in terms of fabrics, where more of polyester based fabric with mix of geometric and abstract prints came in picture.

*90s became baggy on silhouette, with extremely high waisted double pleated pants and new additions that were high on fashion were the acid wash denims both for men and women.

*Prints were worn top to bottom without break, one can find Asha Gawli character dressed in sarees in this style.

Not just Arun Gawli's character, each and every character from the film was thoroughly researched about, their patterns, sense of design, fabrics all vary from each other. All the fabrics were designed for the film, keeping in sync with the character and the era that is shown. There was a complete wardrobe designed for each actor, keeping in with the back story from the real lives.
