Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh had the Indian media grasping at straws as they remained fiercely guarded about their grand Lake Como wedding. Even the mercurial platform of social media appeared to be of no help as the guests had been apparently asked not to share any pictures and videos of the ceremonies. The Bollywood superstars solemnized their wedding in the presence of 40 people, which mostly included their family members and relatives.

In her first interview post their wedding, Deepika revealed the reason why their wedding was a strictly-family affair and why they didn't entertain the paparazzi.

"I think the pictures we shared summed up the wedding - it was magical to have just family and friends there who mean something to you, who don't really care about who you are professionally, but are there because they love you for who you are as a person," Deepika told GQ.

Earlier when Ranveer Singh was asked about the venue, he told Filmfare that it was Deepika's desire to get married at Lake Como. He said, "Whatever she [Deepika] wished, I wanted her to have it. That's the first step in being the husband of the millennium. Whatever her vision of getting married, I wanted her to realise it. Whatever she wanted, it was done exactly in that manner."

The 33-year-old actor added, "She deserves every bit of it. I too deserve happiness and my happiness comes from her happiness. It's that simple."
