After Megastar Amitabh Bachchan's tweet of appreciation for Mumbai Metro as a 'solution for pollution', it is Bollywood's Khiladi Akshay Kumar who praised the transport system.

The Bollywood actor who posed on top of the Metro at the Versova Yard for an ace-photographer's calendar shoot earlier this year took a Metro ride for real on Wednesday.

The actor took to Twitter to share a selfie video in which he elaborates his experience of beating peak-hour traffic with Metro.

Explaining how he ended up in the Metro, Kumar said, "I was shooting in Ghatkopar. I had to go to Versova, and my map said that it would take me 2 hours and 5 minutes. My director, Raj Mehta, who is directing Good News, suggested we take the Metro instead. I thought, why not!"

And Metro did not disappoint him "Badhiyan hai yaar! I will reach in 20 minutes! It is a fun ride," he exclaimed with glee while thanking his director for suggesting him this mode of transportation.

"Since Metro is on an elevation, it will never get affected however much it rains," he added.

On Tuesday, Amitabh Bachchan's had called it a faster, convenient and efficient mode of transport. He took to Twitter and wrote: "Friend of mine had a medical emergency, decided to take metro instead of his car .. came back very impressed .. said was faster, convenient and most efficient .. Solution for Pollution ...Grow more trees .. I did in my garden .. have you (sic)."

Thanking him for his support, MMRCL (Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation) chief Ashwini Bhide wrote, "We'r committed 2 commission entire #MumbaiMetro network incldng @MumbaiMetro3 @ d earliest r prvide faster, safer, convenient & #PollutionFree commute 2 #Mumbaikars #AareyAikaNa (sic)."
