Indian film actress and Member of Parliament from Amravati Maharashtra Navaneet Kaur Rana raised big questions regarding the investigation into the alleged drug nexus in Bollywood. Rana asked why are female stars getting "exposed" and the names of male actors being kept hidden and if the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), who is investigating the case, not revealing the names of male stars because of their stature.
Rana also said that the video of a drug party has been going viral on the internet then why is action not being taken against the film directors and actors in it.
Speaking to Zee News, Rana said, "I think the reality is coming out from a long time as several players were banned also due to drugs, I think since then drug use has been prevalent in our country, and because of not taking strict action on it, it has spread. I have been hearing for a few days that a big name is going to be revealed. Big or small, a culprit is a culprit, a person who commits a crime should be punished in the same manner."
Speaking about the video, Rana alleged that action has not been taken against the stars in the video because of their "big name" in the industry. She said, "as we have seen the visuals of the party, in which Deepika is also seen, Malaika is also seen, Shahid Kapoor is there, the other Kapoor is also there, the director is there, the hero's girlfriend is also there, so I think when everything is in front of you and everyone knows that they are all involved, so why not take action yet."

Rana further added that she respects Jaya Bachchan's feelings and maybe things were different in her era, however, things have probably changed in the industry now.
She said, "I have always supported the youth but I am sad about one thing that the names of all the women like Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, Dia Mirza are being taken but not of any male celebrity. What do you want to tell, either you are afraid of big-name heroes or you think women are weak so you are exposing their names."
She further added, "Investigation agencies are also aware which party is being talked about, where were the party was and in whose house and who were present in it. I think that women always become targets because we are weak, women are not able to use their backgrounds well so they become easy targets. Women do not go to buy drugs, but if drugs are reaching women if is not without the support of men. This must be spoken about."
