It was an eventful Eid this year as Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer Bharat hit the screens on June 5, 2019. The film has got the second biggest opening of all time for any Bollywood film after Thugs Of Hindostan. It even became Salman's biggest opener of all time. As per reports in Box Office India, Bharat crossed Rs 100 crore mark by Saturday as it made about Rs 118.25 crore.

Now, the trading website reported that World Cup 2019 match between India and Australia held on Sunday affected the box office collections for Bharat. The film which had made Rs 25 crore on Saturday, only minted Rs 26 crore the next day. Now, the total collections are about Rs 144.25 crore. Bharat was eyeing for Rs 30 crore on Sunday but settled with Rs 4 crore less.

When Bharat was announced as the biggest opening of Salman, he had tweeted, "Big thk u sabko fr giving sabse bada opening mere career ka par what made me the happiest & proudest is ki during a scene in my film jab national anthem is recited ev1 stood up as a mark of respect. There could be no bigger respect for our country than this... Jai Hind #Bharat"
