After playing royalty in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus, Sasha will head to the sets of his next film with director Shree Narayan Singh, the man who gave us 'Toilet Ek Prem Katha' this year. Shahid Kapoor made the big announcement on Twitter, " Let's celebrate the festival of light with the hope that soon electricity will be a right and not a privilege for all."

Just a title announcement for the film, it doesn't give any details about Shahid's role or the actress paired opposite him.

Shree Narayan Singh's last film raised its voice against open defecation in the country and this one too is a social drama. Batti Gul Meter Chalu revolves around the common man's fight against the electricity providing  companies in the country that make its consumers cough up huge amounts for bills.

Excited about this new venture, the director said in a statement, “I’m happy to collaborate with Prernaa and Arjun of KriArj Entertainment the presenters of Toilet Ek Prem Katha. As a filmmaker , it’s a pleasure working with a dream team of producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series who always put the film first and understand everything that goes into making a memorable movie. Together we hope to make another memorable film that reaches a wide spectrum of audiences across the country. I also look forward to working with Shahid Kapoor. Someone with his talent will do complete justice to the role.”
