John Abraham-Mrunal Thakur's movie Batla House, which released on the occasion of Independence Day, is finally catching up on people. After a successful run for Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Sharman Joshi starrer Mission Mangal in first week of its release, John's Batla House is making buzz.

The movie was minting exactly half of Akshay Kumar-Vidya Balan's Mission Mangal till second Friday, but Batla House's Box Office collections on Janmashtami got the John Abaraham starrer back in the game. Batla House minted Rs. 4.15 crore on second Friday, taking the total collections of the film to Rs. 69.99 crore.

In fact after this rise, Batla House is competing with John's 2018 release Satyameva Jayate, which gave a tough competition to Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Mangal then. Confirming the same, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#BatlaHouse saw an upswing on [second] Fri... Aided by #Janmashtami festivities... Should maintain a steady trend on [second] Sat and Sun... Trending better than #SatyamevaJayate... [Week 2] Fri 4.15 cr. Total: 69.99 cr. India biz."

Batla House, directed by Nikkhil Advani, is based on the real life encounter case which took place in Delhi's Batla House on September 19, 2008. The movie also features Dilbar famed Nora Fatehi in a cameo appearance, including O Saki Saki recreation.
