On Wednesday, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's wife Gauri Khan and their elder son Aryan Khan were snapped at the Mumbai airport amid Janta Crufew imposed in Maharashtra in the wake of a sudden COVID-19 surge across the country.
While Gauri Khan donned a black printed outfit which she paired with a blazer and a stylish bag, Aryan Khan was dressed casually.
As per reports, the two were jetting off to New York to meet Suhana Khan who is pursuing her studies in the States.
The paparazzi stationed at the airport snapped pictures and took videos of the mother-son duo leaving for New York and shared them on social media.
On one such video shared by celebrity photographer Viral Bhayani, Gauri and Aryan have been called out for leaving the country amid the grim situation across states due to the coronavirus pandemic.
"When the country us in crisis, they are running away. Just shameful," wrote a user. "Whole bollywood should shift outside India only laut kr vapas hi mt ana (son't come back)," wrote yet another user. "Shameless people," commented another Instagram user.
"Under which essential services does these celebrities come? R we common ppl mad to sit at home and follow the protocols?" questioned a social media user.
"What happened to staying home saving lives?" asked another.
"This is so irresponsible! They could possibly be the carriers of this deadly Indian variant and as individuals it is our responsibility to restrict the impact of this mutated virus as much as possible! Especially considering the fact that the chances of negative RT-PCR’s have increased. SHAMEFUL to say the least!" commented an angered internet user.
On a related note, recently, several B-town celebs had left the city for a vacay in exotic locations. From Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor to Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani, stars are currently holidaying at beach destinations for which they have been called out by netizens over social media for coming across as tone-deaf and insensitive to be travelling amid pandemic, especially at a time the country is in a crisis and curfews are imposed across the nation.
