The team of The Accidental Prime Minister, including Anupam Kher and Akshaye Khanna, started filming the project recently. Based on the book of the same name, written by former prime minister Manmohan Singh's media adviser Sanjay Baru, the film feature Anupam in the lead role of Manmohan Singh.

Meanwhile, Akshaye Khanna, who was last seen in Ittefaq, will play author Sanjay Baru in the screen adaptation of the best selling novel.
