Amitabh Bachchan shares UNSEEN photo with wife Jaya Bachchan from their first film 'Bansi Raju'

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan and his actress-politician wife Jaya Bachchan have been married for 48 blissful years. Their first film together titled ‘Bansi Birju’ has clocked 49 years of its release in Hindi cinema. 

On the special occasion, Amitabh treated his fans on social media with a black-and-white picture of the film. The cine icon on late Saturday night posted a still from the film where the two can be seen hugging each other with sad looks on their faces.

"Our first film together .. ‘Bansi Birju’.. released Sept 1, 1970 .. that’s 49 years ago," Big B wrote as the caption for the image, which currently has over 4.9 lakhs likes on the photo-sharing website. 

Reacting to the post, Shweta Bachchan wrote, “Love you both,” while Big B’s granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda, Riteish Deshmukh and Bipasha Basu dropped heart emojis in the comments section. 

Fans also showered senior Bachchan and Jaya with love and compliments. "You both are so good together,” wrote one user while another commented, “Sir you are like magic.” A third user wrote, "aap kitne smart the sirrr,” while a fourth one commented, “Luv u amitab bachchan sir”

Directed by Prakash Verma, ‘Bansi Birju’ is about the love story between Birju, a villager and his lady love Bansi who is a sex worker. Following ‘Bansi Birju’, Jaya, an FTII graduate and daughter of famous journalist Taroon Coomar Bhaduri, co-starred with Amitabh in ‘Ek Nazar’. 

Amitabh and Jaya got married in June 1973. The two were seen in the film ‘Zanjeer’, which turned out to be a massive success. They were also seen in a slew of movies such as ‘Abhimaan’, ‘Chupke Chupke', ‘Mili’ and ‘Sholay’.

On the work front, Amitabh Bachchan will soon be seen in Rumy Jafrey’s film ‘Chehre’ which also stars Rhea Chakraborty, Emraan Hashmi and Krystle D’Souza. He also has ‘Brahmastra’, ‘Mayday’, ‘Goodbye’ and ‘Jhund’, a remake of ‘The Intern’ in the pipeline. He is currently seen as a host on the ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati 13’.
