Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn was to do a biopic on Jaswant Singh Gill, the chief mining engineer, who evacuated 65 miners trapped in a flooded coal mine in Raniganj, West Bengal, in 1989. The film was to be directed by Tinu Suresh Desai whose last outing Rustom was much-appreciated. But Ajay and Tinu parted ways because they didn’t agree on the treatment of the script.

Recently, there were rumours indicating that Ajay and Tinu may be headed for a court battle. However, a source close to the two-time National Award-winning actor dismissed the gossip, saying, “Matters between Tinu and Ajay have been amicably settled. And though they are not working on this project, they may team up on another film in the future. There is no bad blood here.’’ Ajay remained unavailable for comment.
