Akshay Kumar has been applauded by many for portraying the character of social entrepreneur Arunachalam Muruganantham, who's credited to have invented low cost sanitary pad making machine for the women of his village, in his recently released film Pad Man. The R Balki directorial marked the debut of Twinkle Khanna as a producer and also stars Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in significant roles.

While movie has opened up a dialogue about the topic of menstrual hygiene which is still considered to be a taboo in many parts of India. The makers of the film had expressed on several occasion on how they wish that more than women, they wish every man should watch the film for the subject that it takes up. 

Recently, Akshay was asked if his own son Aarav had watched the film and what did he have to say after watching it. To this, Akshay replied saying, "When my son watched Pad Man, he came up to me, patted me on my back and said, 'Dad, good job!' So, he enjoys all the films that I do."

 

Meanwhile, Akshay will soon be seen in Gold, the teaser of which was recently unveiled. The actor also has Kesari, based on the battle of Saragarhi, in the pipeline. the first look of Akshay in Kesari has already been released. Kesari also marks Akshay's second collaboration with Karan Johar's Dharma Production.
