During the coronavirus crisis, Akshay Kumar was among the first few actors who extended help to combat the deadly virus amid the announced lockdown across the country. He pledged to donate Rs 25 crore to PM Cares Fund and also donated Rs 2 crore to Mumbai Police Foundation to support them. Now as per latest reports, Akshay has made a donation of about Rs 45 lakhs to Cine & TV Artistes’ Association (CINTAA).

Confirming the same, Amit Behl, CINTAA's Joint Secretary told in an interview, "Akshay Kumar extended financial help of Rs 45 lakhs to CINTAA. We have deposited Rs 3000 each in the account of 1500 artists and workers associated with CINTAA yesterday."

He further shared about how Sajid Nadiadwala informed Akshay about the financial help needed. Behl said, "CINTAA had communicated about the financial crisis of the artist and workers amid the lockdown to Sajid Nadiadwala, who informed Akshay about the same."

Amit concluded by stating, "Several junior artists and daily wagers associated with CINTAA need help at the moment. Several celebs from the industry have assured that they will provide support during the grave crisis."

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Akshay shot for an initiative at a popular studio in Mumbai along with the filmmaker R Balki. His photos from the sets donning a mask with white kurta pyjamas and a gamcha hit the Internet and instantly went viral. Utmost precautions took place on the sets with each person from the unit being sanitised, given mask, face shield and cleaning their hands with sanitizer.
