After a long silence, Akhshay Kumar has spoken up on Sushant Singh Rajput. He shared a video explaining his silence, and also breaking it.

In the clip, Akshay said that he saw so much negativity that he didn't understand whom to talk to and what to say, after which he made the video. He addressed fans in the video, stating that films have resonated with their emotions only. He said it is okay to be angry and Bollywood accepts it whole-heartedly.

"We were forced to self-introspect too. It is has forced us to check a few aspects of our industry which need our attention," he was heard saying.

Akshay acknowledged drug problem in Bollywood and said, "These days, there is a lot being spoken about narcotics and drugs. Today, I cross my heart and tell you that I wouldn't lie about the problem not existing."

He however also asserted, "Every industry has this problem, but it is not true that every person is involved in the problem," adding, "I am sure that the authorities (NCB, CBI) will take the right action in the matter."

"I also know that every person from the film industry will co-operate with them to the fullest," said Akshay, requesting people to not shun down the whole industry because of a few people.

He shared believing in the power of media, stating that if the media does not speak up on the right topic at the right time, then probably there would be no justice served. He, however, also requested the media to break news with sensitivity.

With folded hands, Akshay asked fans to keep faith and addressed them as 'yaar'. He said that if the fans are upset, then the stars will work harder towards gaining their trust again.
