Now, one more talented actor has been added to the cast of Sooryavanshi. It's none other than Neena Gupta, who will be seen as Akshay's onscreen mother in the film. Confirming the same, Neena stated to Mumbai Mirror, "This is an interesting role because it isn’t the stereotypical mother who asks his son about food, marriage etc., but has several dimensions."

She further said, "There is a new temperament to the mother, and you will get to see a very different dynamic between Akshay, Katrina and me. This is a new, sweet and interesting space that I am looking to explore."

The Badhaai Ho actor concluded by saying, "I am happy that more people will get to see my work. Rohit has made some amazing films which have been appreciated by the audience."

Talking about Sooryavanshi, the film will be extensively shot in Mumbai, Bangkok, Hyderabad and also in Goa. The movie will be co-produced by Karan Johar and is slated to release during Eid weekend in 2020.
