“Akshay is the mascot of socially-relevant cinema and along with Bhumi, he sent out a positive message about personal hygiene in TEPK. Their jodi was loved by everybody and they have now been roped in for a public service ad (PSA) for the Swachh Bharat campaign, which takes forward the message of proper sanitation,” says a source. Both the actors shot for the PSA, which has been directed by R Balki.

Incidentally, the ad director-turned-filmmaker had also helmed Akki’s other film Pad Man. The source adds, “Pad Man highlighted a serious social issue. The team felt that as Balki treats such topics with sensitivity, he is the best person to direct this ad.”
