Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan, other celebrities mourn Saroj Khan's demise

Ace choreographer Saroj Khan passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest. On hearing the news, Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Manoj Bajpayee, Taapsee Pannu, Sunil Grover, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Vivek Agnihotri, Nimrat Kaur, Manisha Koirala and Aahana Kumra took to Twitter to offer their condolences.

"Woke up to the sad news that legendary choreographer #SarojKhan ji is no more. She made dance look easy almost like anybody can dance, a huge loss for the industry. May her soul rest in peace," tweeted Akshay Kumar.

Meanwhile, Nimrat Kaur shared various images of Khan and wrote, "Saroj ji’s name introduced the word ‘choreographer’ to my life. A genius who immortalised stars and the music that defined an era with her iconic work. May her loved ones find strength and courage at this terrible hour. There’ll never be another...#RIPSarojKhan #Legend #Masterji"

The 71-year-old was admitted to Bandra's Guru Nanak hospital on June 20 after she complained of breathlessness. She was recovering and going to be discharged within a day or two. The three-time National-Award winning choreographer's last rites would take place at Malvani in Malad later in the day. She is survived by her husband B. Sohanlal, son Hamid Khan and daughters Hina Khan and Sukyna Khan.
