When Akriti Kakkar became a bride a year-and-a-half ago, instead of shedding copious amounts of tears during the bidaai she was happy.

She says, “I was a crazy bride running and jumping around, dancing away and pretty much shocked a lot of guests at the wedding, too, (so I’m told).”

Now, she is using that as an inspiration for her next single, Swag Wali Bride, which will release soon. The singer, who has Saturday Saturday (Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania), Iski Uski (2 States), etc to her credit has reinterpreted the Punjabi folk song Chidiya Da Chamba and given it a 2018 Dance Hall twist for the track.

“I know a lot of girls who are bindaas, crazy, fun-loving and not the cliché demure brides. So this song is dedicated to all those swag wali brides out there,” she says.
