Saif Ali Khan had vowed after Karan Johar’s 'Kal Ho Na Ho' with Shah Rukh Khan that he will never play the second lead to another hero in a film
Sometimes, some films appear in the news for getting delayed constantly and because they face casting troubles, and Taanaji: The Unsung Warrior is one such film.
The film, which has been in the news for over a year now, has finally began pre-production work and is set to go on the floors soon.
Actor Ajay Devgn, who is set to play the title role in the film (the male lead) wanted his Omkara co-star Saif Ali Khan to play the supporting role.
However, the Sacred Games actor has vowed to never be part of a two hero film, in which he is not playing the lead.
With an unshakeable Nawab of Pataudi refusing to budge, Ajay had a tough time convincing the actor to get on board.
Ajay Devgn, in fact, had to personally meet Saif and get him to sign up for the role.
And how did Ajay do it?
According to a report in Deccan Chronicle, it took a lot of convincing on Ajay’s part to get Saif to agree and take up the role.
Incidentally, Saif Ali Khan had vowed after Karan Johar’s Kal Ho Na Ho with Shah Rukh Khan that he will never play the second lead to another hero in a film.
However, Ajay emphasised that while the role is that of a supporting character, it is strong and unique just as it was in Omkara for Saif.
However, neither has Saif, nor the studio confirmed that the actor has been cast in the film, so we aren't sure if he is a part of the film.
But if the Nawab becomes a part of the film, it will be a good addition to the film.
Also, Saif and Ajay as a combination, is a power-packed one! Fans loved them in Omkara and in the 1999 film Kachche Dhaage.
Meanwhile, rumours mills also have it that Kajol too will be a part of the film. The Helicopter Eela actress is said to essay the role of Ajay’s in the project which will be directed by Om Raut of Marathi film Lokmanya fame.
