Aditya Dhar created a storm at the box office at the start of 2019, with his directorial debut Uri: The Surgical Strike. The film which was based on 2016 Uri attack starred Vicky Kaushal in the lead role. It collected more than Rs 240 crore at the domestic market and smashed several records as well. Now after a successful outing with Uri, the hit actor-director duo is all set to reunite for the second time.

Yes, as per reports in Mumbai Mirror, Aditya's upcoming directorial is a period-war film based on the mythological character of Ashwatthama. This untitled film also marks the reunion of Vicky and Aditya with producer Ronnie Screwvala. Talking about it, a source stated, "After Uri, the makers wanted to return with something big and interesting. Aditya has been working on this script since a long time, even before Uri released, and when he sounded out Ronnie and Vicky, they immediately jumped on board. The film will be mounted on a big scale and will be shot later this year."

Recently, when DNA After Hrs asked Aditya about his next plan, he said, "As of now, I’m consciously taking a break. But, there are a few concepts I have already worked upon. I’ll take a few more days and zero in on what I need to do."

He further said, "The army is something I’m very close to. I find war stories, tales of valour and sacrifices fascinating and war films are something which I’ll always want to do as a genre. But, I don’t want my immediate next film to be one. I want to explore different genres. Maybe I’ll come back to it after a few projects because there are some amazing stories that nobody knows about."

Meanwhile, the mythological film is likely to hit the screens in 2020.
