Aamir Khan and Saif Ali Khan to step into shoes of R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in Hindi remake of 'Vikram Vedha'?

It's been 18 years since Dil Chahta Hai came out. The film had a terrific star cast which included Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Preity G Zinta among others. The film also marked the directorial debut of Farhan Akhtar and it is considered a cult classic till now. After that film, Aamir did not share screen space with any of these actors although Saif and Akshaye worked together in Race.

Now as per reports in Pinkvilla, Aamir and Saif are all set to reunite after many years in Neeraj Pandey's upcoming production. Now, a Filmfare reported suggested that the film is set to be the Hindi remake of Tamil blockbuster film Vikram Vedha which starred R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi in the leading roles. The magazine report stated Saif will step into the shoes of Madhavan, while Aamir will be seen as the main antagonist. The film is likely to be directed by Gayatri Pushkar, who also helmed the original Tamil version.

Meanwhile, Aamir will soon start shooting for his upcoming film, Laal Singh Chaddha, which is the Hindi remake of Tom Hanks starrer Forrest Gump. The film will be directed by Advait Chandan and is going on floors in the month of October this year. It is releasing on Christmas 2020. 

On the other hand, Saif is currently in London where he is shooting for Jawaani Jaaneman. He is also gearing up for the release of his web show Sacred Games season 2 which will be streamed on August 15, 2019.
